UMKC Central website

UMKC Central is a resource intended to break down the silos between departments and lessen confusion for students, especially first-time freshmen and transfers. Since the office was still being created and staffed while we were developing the marketing materials, this project required coordination between a number of individuals. The website was intended to be the key that tied everything together, so our project meetings became the place where some of the first breakthroughs happened. I worked with representatives from all of the offices involved, sharing with them the vision of a place where students could find answers without first needing to know which office handled which part of the process.

Because of the compressed timeline for this project, I also built the website, applying the designer’s look and feel to the structure we developed in our meetings. While the content never reached its full potential due to timeline constraints and other considerations, the overall effort still made a lot of improvements to the student experience.
