Alumni and Friends website

University Advancement was in need of a web presence, but they needed to frame it in a way that outside visitors would understand, so we replaced the landing page for Alumni and Friends with a site full of information for outside constituents and alumni of the university. Placing the site at this level gave it prominence on the university website while avoiding the temptation to use internal lingo, like the division name, that would only confuse visitors.

An outside consultant began the design for this project, but I revised it to meet Advancement’s needs, adding more functional navigation that allowed visitors to shop around for the section they wanted before committing to a link. We also gathered a list of facts to show the impact and reach of alumni at the university, and I created art to illustrate them in an infographic style. Once the design was approved, I worked with a web developer to finish building the site.
