Bloch School of Management website
When we redesigned the Henry W. Bloch School of Management website, the school was experiencing a number of back-to-back successes. Several of their programs had received impressive rankings, they were building a brand new building and they had received the school’s largest recorded donation. They had a lot of great things to say, but few staff dedicated to maintaining the website beyond simple text updates. Because of this, we focused on keeping the site low maintenance by telling the school’s story in a timeless way on the home page and hitting on all the selling points that set it apart.
I provided the information architecture for this project. I created the sitemap, worked with the client on content strategy and gathered usability feedback from key audiences at several points in the process. I also provided creative input and web development support to the designer by working on the more complicated code challenges, including retrofitting the design to be mobile-friendly when we discovered this trend halfway through development. I also trained the client to make updates and eventually helped them to hire a webmaster when they were able to make that investment.
